To support a very exciting development in our expanding Cross Industry vertical, StormGeo, a global industry leader in weather intelligence and decision support solutions, is looking for an experienced and creative Industry Manager for Consultative Sales (IMCS). The IMCS’s primary focus will be generation of new leads regarding consultative new generation services and deployment, including Machine Learning and AA/AI-based solutions. In addition, the IMCS will take responsibility for existing strategic client consultative initiatives to encourage high quality deployment and ensure long term continuation and expansion of the relationship.
The IMCS will gain a strong understanding of StormGeo’s services, technologies, and our strategic intent. As a team member, the IMCS will cooperate with the Senior Industry Managers in industry specific value propositions for higher level VP / C-level client penetration with our existing and new products and services.

StormGeo is uniquely positioned to open new services by combining many years of weather intelligence with data science to drive sustaining business impacts to our client base. The IMCS will be a driving force to open these new markets and industry verticals for incremental growth and profitability. Cross Industry serves many industries such as Insurance, Life Science, Health Care, Telecom, Banking, Manufacturing and Construction, etc. The IMCS will also from time to time be tasked with advising StormGeo’s other verticals Oil & Gas and Renewables to ensure consistency in new service value proposition statements and delivery.

StormGeo is looking for an impactful and energetic senior consultant / manager with a proven record to position and sell strategic business impact initiatives and can take these to “ground level” for successful delivery and market expansion.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the consultative sales approach for existing and new products and services.
  • Lead strategic client initiatives regarding consistent messaging, initial startup and delivery.
  • Be a steward in developing a good working relationship with other internal stakeholders (R&D, Operations, Client Services) and leverage their services and capabilities.
  • Drive industry segment research to enhance StormGeo’s sales position towards their respective prospects and clients.
  • Work closely together with StormGeo Product group in formulating client business benefits, prioritization, and internal business case development.
  • Support prospecting activities, follow-up on leads and meeting prospects.
  • Develop a deep understanding of StormGeo product/service offerings and their related go-to-market strategies to help define relevant business and marketing plans.
  • Provide insights on strategic impact of competitive actions and customer & market trends.
  • Prepare and present proposals.
  • Support the contract terms negotiations (services, fees and term).
  • Obtain necessary authorizing documents to substantiate each sale.
  • Continuously update information in Salesforce.
  • Support the development of marketing related materials.

Job Specifications

  • Education: An MBA or similar business degree is a strong plus; if possible, with business management and market development background from a “big-5”-like or other reputable consulting organization.
  • Work experience: 5 to 10 years of sales, consulting, and product/service management experience, a proven record of accomplishment of delivering results and deep understanding of solution sales/professional services.
  • A technical or engineering background is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Need to have a flexible can-do attitude, be comfortable with ambiguity and very strong communication and cross-group collaboration skills.
  • Affinity to be sales-oriented and has proven record of “translating” strategic / value propositions into real-life solutions.
  • Interpersonal skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to present themselves in a professional manner. Must be a team player.
  • Organizational skills: Must demonstrate ability to have high attention to detail and be able to manage multiple sales opportunities in parallel.
  • Direction received: Self-motivated and able to function successfully with minimal supervision.
  • Mental effort: Frequent demand to establish priorities and meet goals and deadlines.
