Offshore Wind Power

StormGeo has during the past 10 years developed a unique modelling suite powerful and flexible enough to run dedicated atmosphere and wave model areas anywhere in the world. StormGeo utilises and accesses all necessary data from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts(ECMWF).

StormGeo has specialised in modelling the dynamic flow and energy production of wind farms. Using dedicated fine-scale modelling and site assessment techniques, we can provide highly reliable production estimates for different wind farm configurations and lay-outs. Extreme wind conditions can be evaluated, and climate trends are taken into account.

StormGeo"s Marine Forecasting system is designed for use in complex, near-shore waters, where wind, waves and tidal activity interact in intricate ways, making the use of small vessels difficult and risky. Using StormGeo"s Marine Forecasting services, you will always know what the weather and sea conditions will be like in any part of the wind farm, so that you can plan your operations and use of personnel and vessels safely and efficiently.

Measurements of the weather and wave conditions throughout the farm are integrated into the forecasting system to ensure the best possible match between forecasts and reality. These measurements are presented in the user interface along with the forecasts, giving you a full overview of the conditions at any time.

StormGeo"s experienced metocean forecasters supervise your site 24 hours a day and will warn you if a thunderstorm or other conditions which would be critical to your operations are expected.
