To manage further growth in our Planning & Navigation division we are seeking a Customer Service Executive to join our global shipping team. This role will be based at our office in Singapore and help and advice a range of shipping customers in globally with an extra focus on Singapore on navigational charts, publications and associated solutions such as basic technical support. Maintaining excellent level of service and customer retention is a key target and the successful candidate will possess strong skills in relationship building through successful delivery, as well as seeing the opportunities for upsell to existing accounts.

A maritime background with navigational experience is a strong advantage. StormGeo are developing modern state-of-the-art digital onboard solutions for both navigational charts and publications. Thus, the ability to provide this combination of support is needed (2nd line technical support on installation and all software maintenance issues are handled separately by another team). Full training on the products and services will be offered.

Customer inquiries are largely submitted via email in to our bespoke Customer Service System. In this position there will also be frequent communication thorough telephone.

Key responsibilities include

  • Understanding customer needs and provide appropriate solutions to achieve satisfaction
  • Processing orders in both digital and physical formats, including arranging delivery to worldwide destinations
  • Keep records of customer interactions and open and maintain customer accounts and file documents
  • Build sustainable relationships of trust through service minded and interactive communication
  • Liaising with suppliers, when required, to resolve customer issues
  • Advice and proactive product training to existing customers
  • 1st line technical support
  • Upselling to existing customers

In the role you will liaise with colleagues from many nationalities, operating out of other StormGeo locations worldwide. The position reports to head of Customer Experience.

We are looking for a person with

  • Maritime experience and qualifications, especially from navigation, but other relevant background will also be considered.
  • A self-starter and team player with a desire to provide the best possible results
  • An experienced user and a strong interest in new technologies
  • Methodological and systematic approach
  • Bachelor/Master’s degree
  • Fluency in English and Norwegian, written and oral
