This position is required to be in the office on a daily basis (exceptions can be made with the approval of the Development Manager and HR Lead). The incumbent must be able to balance competing needs between StormGeo Group projects and StormGeo, Inc. to provide accurate project/task delivery estimates and deliver upon those deadlines.

Skills

  • Web Development in PHP/C#/JavaScript a must
  • .NET experience a plus
  • Rest API
  • Software Development in Symfony, Mapbox, Mobile Development, PostgreSQL, MySQL Database, Tcl.Tk/C, XML/KML/RSS, iOS/Android, and UNIX/Linux experience is considered a plus
  • Software architect and mentoring of developers on technical solutions
  • Strong understanding in Object Oriented programming and design patterns
  • Ability and proven track records to document legacy code and systems
  • Project Management when required
  • Ability to self-motivate and drive projects in cooperation with distributed teams

Primary Areas of Responsibility

  • Work with all other department heads on needs assessment, request prioritization, and incident resolutions
  • Manage software development related projects he is assigned to according to group procedures
  • Serve as the 2nd level incident and problem management support for the service desk (on-call 24/7)
  • Support remote users with technical issues (on-call 24/7)
  • Inter-department needs assessment and support
  • Software support (help desk)

Competence demands

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or 10 years’ experience that includes software development and web development
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize sound professional judgment in providing oversight for technical and programmatic responsibilities
  • Ability to work under broad delegated authority for independent planning, scheduling, coordinating and execution of R&D objectives
  • Demonstrated skill in documenting project plans and standard operating procedure documents, as well as communications to various audiences both internal and external to the organization
  • Ability to interact successfully and diplomatically with both internal and external stakeholders
