Data Analyst

About the Role

As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our vessel data. Your responsibilities will include researching and verifying data sources, inputting data from various channels into our electronic systems, and performing data extractions and imports. You'll be the guardian of data quality, identifying and addressing anomalies, and supporting software system preparation. Your role also involves maintaining crucial business data.To meet the increasing demand for our product globally, we are setting up a fleet performance team in Mumbai (India) and searching for an analytically and conceptually strong professional for our Mumbai office as a Data Analyst.

Main Responsibilities

• Research data sources to verify the validity of information for vessel data entry/setup
• Link data entry from various data sources and enter it into an electronic data system for storage and analysis
• Perform extracting, importing, and exporting of data in various database applications
• Identify data anomalies and escalate data quality issues
• Assist in the preparation of software systems, and handover of the system to the customer or project manager
• Assist in the backup and maintenance of business data

Core Requirements

• High degree of accuracy working with multiple forms of data
• Ability to read, manipulate and analyze databases in various formats
• Ability to multi-task and perform well under deadline pressures
• Advanced Excel skills (e.g.) data filters, data sort, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulae
• Basic Extensible Markup Language (XML) editing skills
• Knowledge on Robotic process automation (RPA) or Python Programming would be good to have
• Basic knowledge of shipping, marine engines and machinery would be an added advantage
• Graduate in Marine Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Maritime Study would be good to have
