StormGeo is seeking a Junior ESRI Developer to join our DataOps team. The candidate must have user experience in ArcGIS Enterprise and a background in Cartography and GIS Analysis

As a Junior ESRI Developer, you will be responsible for developing and deploying GIS products using ESRI's suite of development tools. You will work with our Products and Operations teams to deliver high-quality GIS products to our clients.

The primary objective of this position includes utilizing the ESRI software suite to analyze spatial data and design digital maps with geographic and meteorological data sets from a variety of sources in effort to clearly communicate and explain geographic trends and findings. 

You will tackle visualization challenges to create innovative designs and publish advanced map services and layers that support a multitude of uses, ranging from web mapping applications to informational products to traditional desktop GIS and spatial analysis.

The position is located in Houston, TX and will work with teams in the US and Norway.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain GIS products using ESRI's suite of development tools
  • Support GIS workflows
  • Create and maintain ArcGIS Enterprise web services
  • Provide technical support for ArcGIS Enterprise and related software
  • Develop and maintain geodatabases
  • Participate in project planning and execution
  • Integrate and clean data to convert it into a desired form
  • Analyze spatial data through the use of mapping software
  • Develop mapping tools
  • Design digital maps with geographic, meteorological, and other data sources
  • Produce maps showing the spatial distribution of various kinds of data including meteorological and asset data
  • Document and share best practices and tips

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Cartography, GIS or related field
  • 1-3 years experience in ArcGIS Enterprise and related software
  • Experience developing GIS applications using ESRI's suite of development tools
  • Knowledge of spatial databases and SDE
  • 1-3 years Python experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Experience with meteorological data is a plus
