StormGeo is growing and currently developing new products to become increasingly relevant in digital transformation and the energy shift. One focus area are solutions to support the grid companies with improved vegetation management and outage prediction. These innovations center around sustainability, energy- and digital transformation. These types of products are using advanced machine learning methods, very high-resolution satellite images in combination with decades of weather data. New insights and understanding of operational risks and efficiencies for assets and personnel is a key deliverable in the products. The new products add significant innovation to our portfolio of established weather products for the industry.

As technical sales manager, you will be part of an agile and dynamic commercial team and work closely with our data scientists, data and software engineers, and a commercial team to take the new products to the market.

What you will be doing. 

  • Bring our products to the market targeting grid utilities in the Nordic countries to begin with
  • Take an active role in driving the commercial side of the product development to deliver a commercially viable product
  • Participate in developing successful business models around the new products
  • Stay up to date with trends and challenges for the utility industry
  • Start by winning pilots with key clients followed by regular product sales to the whole industry
  • Work cross-functionally between Business, Data, Design, and Software development teams to facilitate and own solution delivery. 
  • Win new customers through prospecting, relationship building and sales
  • Upsell our solutions to existing, well-established portfolio of clients
  • Help existing customers optimally utilize our new products
  • Arrange client meetings
  • Some traveling is required to visit prospects and clients, and also represent StormGeo at conferences and fairs.

Hands-on, agile, with growth-oriented mentality, you will support the team in any tasks to reach success together. You will be part of a dynamic newly established team meaning that you need to be a resilient person and have entrepreneurial traits. You will have extremely competent and motivated colleagues with ambitious growth strategies for a new emerging product line in StormGeo. 
 
We expect you to have. 

  • Background from or working with the electric grid utility sector
  • Understanding of how grid operator works, preferably with vegetation management and outage prediction
  • Experience in solution sales of software products/solutions
  • Basic understanding and interest of data science and data management, preferably with some experience in usage of data science technologies, cloud technologies, data lakes, software development, and business intelligence tools
  • Passion for energy and sustainability and in this position contribute to co-create great products, innovate, and solve complex problems for a vital industry in significant change  
  • Excellent verbal and written in a Nordic and English language communication skills
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to work with business owners and engineering and data teams to define key business questions and answer those questions
  • A Schengen/EU work permit
