Leads StormGeo’s Customer Service team for the shipping division. An expert in ship weather routing and performance, George heads a global team to proactively convey weather and performance issues to clients, while also ensuring that safety-related matters are quickly addressed with shore-side staff.

George's Story

“I have actively worked and managed in all operational related departments within the shipping division of StormGeo. Our clients have come to rely on our experts for the weather-related aspects of their business and I enjoy working with them in an area that is not necessarily their area of expertise.”

George joined the company in 2002 with extensive experience in the industry, and helped to transform the shipping division into the dominant global leader that it is today. This included directing the development of StormGeo software as well as the recruitment and training of staff to fulfill the rapidly changing requirements. Today, George heads StormGeo’s global Customer Services team in Shipping, informing clients of weather and ship performance issues, and conveying the benefits of the full StormGeo suite of services.

“The maritime industry is truly fascinating and the weather effects into it are far reaching. I enjoy making sense of this interaction between weather in relation to voyage safety and profitability. Without properly taking this interaction into account, costly decisions can be made and the ship operator may wind up at the end of the voyage asking, ‘What went wrong?’”My goal is to be proactive in providing the guidance of our team to enhance safety and profitability.”
