StormGeo offers new Electronic Logbook in Partnership with Raytheon to Support 'full paperless' Ship Governance

StormGeo, a leading provider of weather intelligence and decision-support solutions for the shipping industry and part of Alfa Laval, announced today that it will start to offer an electronic logbook with the support of Raytheon Anschütz, a leading manufacturer of navigation and bridge systems. The aim of the partnership is to extend StormGeo's s-Suite product portfolio with Anschütz’s electronic logbook solution, eLog, to support 'completely paperless' ship governance.

The Anschütz eLog provides elementary evidence of the activity of the ship's command and crew in a secure digital format. The eLog records all critical issues relating to ship operations, such as navigational, machinery, and safety-related information. It is designed according to ISO standard 21745:2019 and features automatic and manual data entries, which are digitally signed and stored securely using blockchain technology. Authorized users have data access to perform data analysis and export from anywhere in the world.

"Our eLog fits perfectly into StormGeo’s portfolio. On the way to complete the paperless vessel’s operation, electronic logbooks are of great importance. The eLog enables the transition of a formerly manual and error-prone process into a seamless, single source process chain for maritime data," says Volker Wenzel, Technical Marketing Manager at Anschütz.

Under the partnership, StormGeo also plans to foster integrate of eLog and other Anschütz products with its own portfolio. StormGeo provides innovative software and services worldwide for shipping owners, managers, and operators. Its hardware-independent, one-stop solution s-Suite includes:
- Voyage Planning
- Onboard Route Optimization
- Route Advisory Services
- Fleet Performance Management
