Asia Maritime Pacific uses ECO Insight and Navigator Insight to meet its fuel and emissions targets

We spoke to JP Chen, Technical Director of Asia Maritime Pacific, a privately-owned shipping company that operates owned and chartered-in Handysize and mini-MPP vessels. He shares his company’s experience of using our fleet performance management software, ECO Insight and reporting software, Navigator Insight.

StormGeo: What did you use for data reporting and fleet performance management before StormGeo Navigator Insight and ECO Insight?
JP Chen: We used email to send and receive data from our vessels but we found that the data collected through email wasn’t enough to effectively perform Fleet Performance Management.

StormGeo: Why did you decide to use both StormGeo Navigator Insight and ECO Insight?
JP Chen: Navigator Insight uses an event-based reporting method, which incorporates existing ship-to-shore reporting processes. It also covers most of the operations onboard, such as voyage planning, charterparty terms, bunkering, Fuel & Oil remaining on-board (ROB), and cargo operations. Navigator Insight's built-in plausibility checks help to ensure the quality of the data reported. ECO Insight then takes over, giving our shore-based operations the tools they need to manage fleet performance, such as voyage performance, charterparty compliance, Energy Efficiency Operational Indicator (EEOI), propulsion and engines efficiency, and emissions monitoring. We use these tools to meet our targets for saving fuel and reducing emissions.
