Weather routing is a crucial service for the shipping industry. In short, it helps shippers save time, fuel and maintain safety on their voyages by using technical data from the vessel combined with weather data.

In this decade, shipping companies have faced more challenges including ESG and environmental compliance. Weather Routing or voyage optimization has become more complicated and evolved to achieve multiple objectives. Hong Kong Maritime Week 

The Hong Kong Maritime and Port Board, together with its co-organisers the Hong Kong Shipowners Association and the Hong Kong Maritime Museum and its partners Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Invest Hong Kong, will organise the seventh Hong Kong Maritime Week from 19 to 25 November 2023 to “Propel Hong Kong” as a renowned international maritime centre with the collaboration of the support organisations. The theme this year is “Recharging the Maritime Industry”. The Hong Kong Maritime Week unites and showcases the Hong Kong maritime industry as a strong cluster, raises the community’s awareness of the economic contributions of Hong Kong’s maritime and port industries, and promotes Hong Kong as a preferred base for maritime business. International and local industry luminaries and practitioners will participate in various physical, online and/or hybrid activities ranging from conferences and seminars, ceremony to maritime-themed visits, tours and competition.
